Feedback

When users post a comment on the website, we gather the data shown in the feedback form, as well as the IP address of the User and the user agent string of the browser, in order to help spam detection.

An anonymous string created from your email address (also called “hash”) may be provided to the Gravatar service, which allows to check whether you are using it. The privacy policy of Gravatar can be consulted here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile image becomes publicly visible within the context of your comment.

Media

When uploading images, you should avoid including location data (GPS EXIF). The users of the website can download and extract any location data from web images.

Cookies

When posting a comment, you can choose that your name, email and web address be stored in cookies. This way, you will not need to fill in your details once again the next time you post a comment.  The duration of these cookies is one year.

If you have an account and you connect to this website, we will install a temporary cookie in order to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when the browser is closed.

When you access, we will install several cookies in order to store your access information and your display options. Access cookies last two days, while display option cookies last one year. If you select “Remember me”, your access will last two weeks. When you leave your account, the access cookies will be deleted.

When you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data; it shows the ID of the article you have just edited and lasts one day.

For how long we keep your data

When you post a comment, both the comment and your metadata are stored indefinitely. This way, we can automatically identify and approve successive comments, instead of directing them to a moderation queue.

We also store the personal data provided in the User profile by users that register on our website. All Users can view, edit or delete their personal data at any time (except for their user name, that cannot be changed). The web administrators can also view and edit those data.

What rights you have in relation to your data

If you have an account or have posted any comments on this website, you can request a personal data export file containing the data you have facilitated and we have about you. You can also request that any personal data about be deleted. This excludes any data that we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
